Carbon individual saddle by Karsten Witte for dressage and eventing

Handmade in Berlin and built for each horse individually, which is why it is called an individual saddle. A handmade bridle can be ordered to match.

Why carbon? Carbon’s strength depends on direction. Depending on how the fibres are aligned, the saddle tree is stiff or flexible. The arrit uses this deliberately:

  • Stiff lengthwise: carries the rider’s weight and spreads pressure evenly instead of bridging front and back
  • Flexible sideways and diagonally: follows the movement of the back and shoulder
  • No gullet plate: more freedom around the shoulder
